About noon one Friday my dear brother, Kurt, called to ask if he and my niece, Niya, could stay the night. They were on their way to Goldendale for the weekend and wanted to drop by and visit for a night. Of course, I said 'Come on down!'. They got here at 7 pm and left at 7 am. A quick stop, but fun.
Niya is usually here with her sister, Keenan. Keenan is 9 and Niya just turned 12. What usually happens is that Keenan plays with Quinn and Niya gets a little left out. Not this time. Within two minutes of walking in the door, Niya and Quinn were building a house out of those foam floor blocks we've had since Quinn had a playroom in La Grande. They made a door out of cardboard and Quinn was thrilled.
The next day friends of ours came over for dinner with their two boys. Quinn and Rowan played with the house well together after they negotiated a few details. This picture may have happened before those negotiations if Quinn's face means anything.
