Finish Line!!!

We DID IT!!!

If you've been paying attention, you know that Quinn and I have been working on this "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" book since earlier in the year.  We blazed right through lessons 1 through 87 and then hit a snag.

We had other things to do.  We lost our momentum.

At 50 lessons Quinn got a little surprise.  He knew that when we finished the whole book he would get the Big Surprises.  Apparently not motivation enough.  For either of us.

Last week I finally got up the gumption to push the issue.  We needed to finish the final 4 chapters within two weeks.  No lolly gaggin' or any othe such thing.

Monday night Quinn read his last story in the book.  We called Dad into the room, did a little happy dance and set about opening the Surprises.

The movie Wall-e - if you haven't seen it, you better.  It's quite a sweet movie.  Can ya tell Quinn was happy about it?  (The one from the library doesn't work very well).

A cat that is solar powered for his part of the garden rounded out the stickers, movie, and butterfly garden.  He's very proud of his reading like a third grader self.

Couldn't be prouder of him ourselves.

Rumor has it that he reads to the other kids in class when the teacher is busy.  That's my boy!
