Do they have pinkeye in Utah?

Oh my. Wondered what that glob of stuff was in the corner of both Quinn's eyes Tuesday morning. Wiped it away and ten minutes later there it was again. Then his eyes got slightly pink around the lids and whites. When he got up from his nap, crustiness.

No preschool on Wednesday morning, although it looked almost gone already. He's been battling a minor sniffle/cough deal for a few days, so it was probably pinkeye, but more cold related then a major virus of some sort.

We had a new mattress and boxspring delivered for Quinn on the same day. He has happily slept in his convertible crib/toddler bed for two years, but it was past time to move up. He was initially very excited about it, but at the bed store he said "I would like to have my bed for another five days!". We gave him three. The compromise seemed to satisfy him.

Now that it is up he seems very proud of it. Loves the new train pillowcases and comforter cover and the fact that he can get under the bed. I can only imagine what is going to get lost there. Note so self: when a sock is missing, check under the bed. Erick and I have noticed that our son has a better bed than we do right now.

Now that there is actually room on the bed for 'friends' Quinn has rediscovered "Bubba", a big gorilla he's had since before he was born. A friendship has been rekindled. Awww.

Now we have to rearrange things to make it possible to keep the reading chair in the room, which was Erick's request. More to do

Erick is gone next week doing some field work so we've made some plans to keep ourselves busy. A day trip to the coast, a trip to the Enchanted Forest (small amusement park), and most likely lunch out. Anything to keep us both chipper and happy with each other.

Nothing else to report, just the same ol' same ol'.

My son did tell me the other day that "Mama. I sure do love you. I would marry you if you weren't already married to Daddy. Maybe Daddy wouldn't mind if you were married to me, too."

Sure, son. We might need to move to Utah, though.

We have a cedar tree (okay, three) in our back yard. They have these long seeds that have been dropping off for weeks now. We have had to sweep the deck daily. These trees also let loose with an incredible amount of pollen, and a thin coat of yellow stuff is on everything around here. If you stand still too long...

Look at that form!

You're a brave soul - pink eye, no matter how minor - really gives me the willies! I'm glad he's feeling better. Have fun this next week ... I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of these daily trips!
