Santa Land and all that comes with it

Seemed like the right time to head downtown to Macy's and see Santa on Saturday.  Of course I realized that it was the last weekend before Christmas and it was bound to be crowded, but I took a stiff drink and got myself ready for it.  It turned out not to be That Bad.

We took the train there, saving the hassle of parking and giving Quinn his Train Fix.  Don't they both look super excited??

Stopping for a little bubbler action.

We got in line for Santa in the basement.  About 15 minutes later Santa took a break.  A potty break.  A whine break.  A "god get me outta here" break. Whatever, it meant someone had to stay in line.  Quinn and Erick wandered around the Santa Land, looking at the decorations.  Here I must mention that it was about 90 degrees down there.  Did not exactly remind me of the North Pole.  Poor Santa - he must have been sweating bullets in that lovely red suit.

When it was my turn to take a turn with Quinn we found something fun.  In the next room they have a train layout, which we looked at Forever.  Thought my knee was gonna give out.  Was able to move Quinn along to the Monorail display.  Apparently it used to be a ride down there, but now it is stationary and the kids climbed all over it while the parents waited for their Santa pictures to get done.

We tried to find somewhere we wanted to grab lunch downtown, but weren't successful.  We ended up back near home at place near home, Gustav's.  Quinn loves it there 'cause they have sausage, his favorite food group.

Erick got some hot cider and when I found that you could sip it through the cinnamon stick - bingo!  new favorite thing.  We had to get a second one.

This is what we waited in line for 90 minutes for.  Quinn wasn't having any of the Smile! stuff, but this look I think suits him.  This was a good Santa.

Merry Christmas!

Next:  5th birthday!

Oy.
