Egg is spelled E G G

Gotta say, not in love with Easter. We are not the church-going types, so really, what is the point? More candy, more 'stuff' - but beyond a reason for more consumption, I'm not getting it. Of course, Quinn loved all the prep work, especially since Laura came over Friday night to help us color eggs since Daddy was working. We did two methods, just to make it interesting. The first is tye dying, using food coloring and a colander. Quinn was a bit heavy-handed with the colors, but we went along with it.

After adding a color you were supposed to count to 30 to let the dye settle. Laura was counting with Quinn. Quinn, wanting to get to the next color counted "1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,30!". Made for some giggling.
The second method was also tye dying but was a bit more involved and messy. You moistened paper towels with diluted vinegar and then dropped your colors on it. Once you had a patch big enough to fit around the egg, you wrapped one up (you had plastic wrap under the paper towel) and set it aside for a while.
These were actually a lot of fun and the eggs turned out looking way more tye dyish than the ones in the colander that really looked more like watercolors.
Needless to say, the result of so much play with food coloring was that our fingers looked like this until Saturday. Quinn was actually concerned about washing his hands 'cause he liked having Easter Egg Hands.
