The morning at camp after the reunion was a tough one. Beverly Beach is a crowded camp ground, but surprisingly quiet. Until, of course, a mother down the road a bit and her daughter got into it about something obscure at 7 am. I was feeling pretty puny with bronchitis, and I thought Quinn would sleep in a little since we didn't get back to the camp ground until almost 11:30 pm, but he popped up.

Quinn, Sabine and Naia (daughters of our friends) got right to playing in the dirt.

Even though we haven't seen Brett and Jale for almost two years, it was like no time had passed. Coffee and cake and conversation. All good.

Our friend Brett taking Quinn for a spin on the scooter.

Moolack Beach.

The girls testing the water.

This is the view from the rental house in Newport - pretty dang good if you ask me. Think we may have to rent it ourselves one day for a long weekend with a few friends.

Our friend Cindra's husband Tom is a fabulous musician. He let Quinn strum his guitar. Quinn was SO excited about it. Guitar lessons just might be in someone's future....

It was a fast weekend with a lot of car time. On the way home we were all pretty exhausted. Erick from working 15 hour days for almost a month; Quinn from all the excitement and staying up so late; and me from the bronchitis. We were at about Salem when the complaints from the back seat that his stomach hurt culminated in Quinn throwing up. Three times before we got home.
He spent the next 7 hours puking every 15 minutes until finally, stomach empty at 1:00 am he finally fell asleep. I had to sleep with him to help him so I slept even less.
The stomach bug seemed to leave him a little tender the next day, but not too much. By midnight, though, I was the one throwing up and spent the next day unable to get off the couch.
Sometimes you just have to pay for a good time.
