Newport

August 22nd found us in Newport for a mini high school reunion for Erick. It started with a potluck at a park where Quinn hooked up with his pal. I'm not sure what they were talking about here, but it looks pretty darn serious.
The wife of one of Erick's high school friends brought her dog to the park. Quinn was over the moon about it and then pretended to BE a dog for much of the afternoon.

Nancy let him walk Jazzie around the park and the grin on my child's face was huge.

It was fun to see David, too!

Erick holding court with some very enthusiastic women. : )

When the plans for a bonfire were cancelled, Erick took the kids to the beach across from the rented beach house for some play time.
We were camping for the night at Beverly Beach, up the road from the house. We went to set up the tent before heading back to the house for snacks and a party. The three-year old girl from the camp next door came over to visit and she and Quinn played while we set up.

Once back at the house, Quinn noticed the telescope. Even though he could see the faint crescent moon with his eyes, he couldn't quite see it though the lens.

After the beach (sorry, Blogger all of a sudden won't let me move pictures around, so if I don't upload them in Just the right order, I'm stuck with it) Quinn and his friend needed a bath to get all the sand out of, well, crevices. They got in the jetted tub and someone (it Was Not Me) put in a few too many drops of bubbles. This is the result:

After the bubble bath, Quinn was treated to songs by Tom. Again, can't rearrange these pictures, so the first one is of Quinn AFTER he fell asleep, the second one is when he strummed while Tom made up a song. Too dang cute.

Cindra and Erick.

It was a very, very late night, with us not leaving for the camp ground until almost 11:30, a sleeping Quinn draped over anyone who would carry him. Once we were in the car, though, he chatted half awake all the way into the tent.
