But, today everything is closed. All the schools are shut down, which means no preschool for my little Preschooler. Sigh. So in an ongoing effort to keep both of us from realizing we have a bit of Cabin Fever, we got right to baking again. But this time we made batter for ornaments, which includes Elmer's glue as an ingredient. Hmm. Yummy.
Anyway, the have cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves so they smell good and you bake them really slowly to dry them out. Then you can paint or whatever and put them on the tree. It's a craft project in stages.
We have to wait a couple of hours while they dry out, so we're looking for winter gear. Since we did not expect four inches of snow in Portland this winter, we didn't get new boots or snow pants. I did finally dig out the old snow pants (which are 3T's, gonna be a tight fit on my guy who's grown three inches this year) but still haven't located the boots. Might be a good thing, 'cause they would have been too small, anyway. So, considering the almost negative wind chill right now, we're thinking a slow walk down the street in regular shoes, just to say we did it.
I bet we're out ten seconds before the lure of the snow wanes.

We've had a blast in our too-small snow gear. But we are so OVER the school closures! Yes, the roads are icy, but sheezzz get these pre-schools back to pre-schooling! So far we're back on track for Wednesday! We've been sledding lots and had many snow ball fights. Noah does not believe us that it won't snow in Corvallis! Were we that "hardy" in La Grande to endure all of that "bad weather"????
